  • What are the requirements to apply for a passport or to renew an expired or replace a lost passport?
    1. On our website: www.belizeembassyusa.mfa.gov.bz under consular services you can find a list of the required documentation, the application and the process for applying for a new passport or to replace an expired or a lost passport.

 

  • How do I make an appointment to renew my passport?              
    1. To make an appointment to renew or replace your passport, you must first submit your  application and the supporting documentation to the nearest. Consul or by email to Consular.Service.USA@MFA.GOV.BZ , 
    2. Upon review, if your application is in order, you will get an email or a text message informing you that your application is in order and inviting you to send an email or call the Consul to set up your appointment.

  • What should I do if my passport is lost or stolen?
    1. To replace a lost or stolen passport, you will need to submit a police report along with the required documentation for issuing a passport.

  • Do US citizens need a visa to travel to Belize?
    1. US citizens do not require a visa to visit Belize for under 160 days.

 

  • Do I need a visa to travel to Belize if I have US green card or a US mutli-entry visa?
    1. Holders of a valid passport and U.S. Permanent Residency Card OR a U.S. multiple entries visa do not need a visa to enter Belize, including at the port of entry of Belize. 

**Cruise Passengers do NOT need a Visa to travel to Belize.

 

  • Can I travel to Belize without a visa?
    1. Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality. Citizens of certain countries may be allowed to enter Belize without a visa for tourism or business purposes for a specified period

  • Can I apply for a birth certificate through the embassy?
    1. You can send your request to Consular.Service.USA@mfa.gov.bz. You may also apply directly to the Vital Statistics Unit in Belize for this service. To assist you further, please use the following link: The Attorney General's Ministry of Belize - The AGM.

 

  • What are the requirements on taking prescribed medication to Belize?
    1. You can contact the Belize Tourism Board for information and the requirements for taking prescribed medication with you on your visit to Belize. You may call 1-800-624-0686 or visit  BTB | Belize Tourism Board

 

  • Can I travel to Belize with a passport expiring in less than 6 months?
